I popped to London a couple days ago with the lovely Katie, and we went to a D&AD chat about ‘How our Mothers know more about Advertising than us’ and it was so worth waking at 5:30am up for! Then we popped into the New Blood stalls with many Universities and it was really impressive to see! I would love to do something like that when I graduate.
Also the branding / designs outside was really cool (all done by Craig Oldham who is so funny, I went to a talk he did in Brighton when I was on my Art Foundation as my tutor used to teach him a while back.) There was a ‘How Tall Are You?’ So of course I had to try it out being quite tall. I am apparently between the size of A 1:200 model of a skyscraper & A very young oak tree.
The activity bar on my blog sort of resembles the Golden Arches logo
Chelsea College of Art (UAL) - Graphic Design Degree Show 2014 (Part 2):
Last bits and pieces of my favourites! Some snazzy posters and lovely book binding. Some really neat conceptual pieces but neither were working / out of order which was a shame so I couldn’t really experience them. Some nice branding work too.
Chelsea College of Art (UAL) - Graphic Design Degree Show 2014:
I recently visited Chelsea’s Graphic Design Show at their campus opposite Tate Britain. First impressions were pretty good and I loved the layout of the show even though the space was quite small in comparison to other shows I have seen.
Here are a few of my favourites! A bit of a shame the 1st image on the bottom row is blurry as it didn’t come out like that on my phone :( but it was a favourite of mine as it touch upon the sampling culture between Jazz & Hip-Hop which are two of my favourite genres of music. It is evident that Chelsea have a very stylistic approach which is always appealing aesthetically.
